FriendActivity is an app for MacOS and Windows which let's you analyze likes, comments, tags, followers, and followings on any public profile or private profile that you follow. Unlike other Instagram activity analyzing apps, FriendActivity can work on any private profile that you follow and creates insights on their post's top likers, commenters, tags, followers, following data. With built in analysis, visualization, data export, and browsing tools, it allows you to get the most complete understanding of relationships between targeted accounts, and any accounts that have engaged with them.
You log in the FriendActivity with your Instagram account to fetch all of your target profile's data, so it works with any profile, private or public, that is viewable while logged in to your Instagram account. If you can access the profile from your account, you can fetch it's data for viewing, navigating, or exporting with FriendActivity.
FriendActivity was designed with complete data privacy in mind. Your login information is sent directly to Instagram through Instagram.com and is not processed or specially handled by our application. All of the data that FriendActivity requires to function (user tokens, activity log) is stored locally on your computer and not accessible by the developers. No user data is stored or transmitted remotely. Locally stored user data can be deleted at any time with the push of a button.
FriendActivity goes way deeper than browsing a profile manually. The app pulls down a target profile's data and reorganizes it so that you can get a complete view of all the engagements that a specific "liker", "commenter", or "tagged profile" has performed on a private profile. This creates views of their activity which can analyze a specific engager, instead of having to sort through Instagram's standard view of a profile to figure things out yourself. You can also export their data for processing as you wish.
FriendActivity is designed to view as much data as possible, but there are some limitations on Instagram's side. Here are the current limitations:
Likes: you can usually fetch around ~100-150 maximum likes per post.
Comments: the majority of post comments are accessible, no limit appears to exist, but very popular accounts with thousands of followers or hundreds of comments per post may have issues.
Followers/Followings: Follower/following fetches are a bit more complex and require multiple passes. With one pass you can get anywhere from 75-100% of accounts that follow or are followed by a target profile. A second pass can you get you 85%+. A third pass is likely to get you 90%+ of the counts per profile. This is based on testing with accounts that have ~3000 followers. The more followers, the more passes it will take. But you should be able to fetch upwards of 95% if not 100% given enough time.
Fetching speed varies greatly based on the number of posts, comments, followers, following, and also based on account specific Instagram limitations.
In testing accounts with ~3000 followers/following and ~300 posts, the estimate can range from 30-90 minutes depending on follower/following passes and individual comment pages.
Fetching should be carefully performed to not run afoul of Instagram's limitations. Once your target profile's data is pulled down, you wouldn't want to delete it until you're done with it. If there are any interruptions, the "resume fetch" buttons can be used to pick up fetching where you left off.
Instagram may limit you on their end, if this occurs you may need to wait 24-48 hours to continue the fetching process.
No. To date, nobody has reported account bans after analyzing profiles with FriendActivity.
